Our Story

Why families choose One on One Care

At One on One Care, you won't find a corporate franchise logo — you'll find a local family continuing a legacy of compassion and service. Since 1998, we've proudly supported seniors across Central and Northern Virginia with the same mission that inspired our founder, Charles Murray: to help people live safely, comfortably, and independently in the place they love most — home.

Because we're local and family-owned, we offer something national franchises simply can't match: personal attention, long-term commitment, and care that's driven by community, not corporate policy. We live here, we care here, and we'll always be here when your family needs us.

Real reviews from families we serve across Virginia

I have been with One On One Care for about 6 years now. The people in the office really care about their clients' needs and they really go above and beyond to provide exceptional care. When they send out a caregiver, they want to send a perfect fit for you.

Kate and Stacie from One on One have been professional, compassionate and extremely flexible in the few months that we required in-home care for my father. I could not have asked for a better service while we navigated the chaos of a parent with dementia.

Common Questions

Questions families ask us

Choosing in-home care for a loved one is a big decision. Here are the questions families ask us most — and if you don't find what you need, we're always happy to talk.

Call (540) 288-1300

Common signs include difficulty managing daily tasks like cooking, bathing, or keeping up with the house, increased falls or safety concerns, loneliness or social withdrawal, or a recent hospital stay. If you're asking the question, it's probably worth a conversation — we're happy to talk through your situation at no cost and no commitment.

It starts with a phone call or our contact form. We talk through what's going on, answer your questions, and set up a free in-home consultation. From there we build a care plan around your loved one's routine and match a caregiver whose personality and experience fit. You decide the pace — there's never any pressure.

We serve families throughout Central and Northern Virginia — Fredericksburg, Stafford, Spotsylvania, Prince William, Fauquier, Culpeper, and surrounding communities. Our Fredericksburg office covers the Fredericksburg region, and our Warrenton office covers Fauquier, Culpeper, and western Prince William. Not sure if we reach you? Just call.

Yes. One on One Care serves Medicaid CCC Plus waiver clients throughout our Virginia service area, and we've helped many families work through the process. If you're not sure whether your loved one qualifies, or you're partway through an application, call us — we'll explain how it works in plain terms.

Great care starts with great people. Every caregiver is screened through interviews, background and reference checks, and experience verification. We look for people who are not only qualified but kind, dependable, and compassionate — caregivers we'd feel comfortable welcoming into our own homes.

Yes. We generally ask for a minimum of 4 hours per visit and 3 visits per week. These guidelines help us provide dependable staffing and keep the same caregivers with the same clients. If your circumstances are different, call us — we're always willing to talk it through.

We have two Virginia offices. Our Fredericksburg office is at 904 Princess Anne St., Suite 308, Fredericksburg, VA 22401 — (540) 288-1300. Our Warrenton office is at 32 Waterloo St., Suite 208, Warrenton, VA 20186 — (571) 328-5603. Families are welcome to call either office; we'll connect you with the right team.
